CAI 535: Nembro - Lonno - Selvino
The CAI Trail 535 begins at the small roadside shrine located at the intersection of Via Sant’Jesus and Via dei Vitalba. From here, descend to the right for about twenty metres to reach the start of the ancient road to the Sanctuary of the Madonna dello Zuccarello (16th century), from whose churchyard there is a magnificent view over the lower Seriana Valley. The route then continues uphill along the ancient mule track to Lonno, now fully repaved, which enters a broadleaf woodland and quickly reaches Colle Bastia. After a fountain on the right, the path becomes flat and follows the “fitness trail.” Passing two small valleys and an arched fountain, it reaches the first houses of Lonno and then Piazza Buonarroti, where it intersects trails 532 and 534. After a narrow passage and a staircase, the trail climbs steeply between dry-stone walls up to an elevation of 750 m. After a sharp left turn, it becomes flat through woodland with short uphill sections until reaching Forcellino (861 m). From here, the trail continues along the eastern slopes of Mount Podona, passing the Corna Tagliata spring before entering a wooded valley. The path then turns sharply right and ends at a gravel quarry, which is crossed to reach the Nembro–Selvino provincial road near the village.
